Become a Member

RIPE NCC members can request IPv6 addresses, AS Numbers and make [assignments] to [End Users] or customers.

We have run out of IPv4 addresses but eligible members can request a single /24 [allocation] through our IPv4 waiting list.

Members also benefit from a wide range of services such as training courses, [resource certification] (RPKI) and Internet analysis tools. The RIPE NCC also organise community events and online activities where members can discuss common interests.

Is a RIPE NCC membership suitable for my organisation?

Organisations that need IPv6 addresses or AS Numbers do not always need to become members and you can get [independent resources] from a sponsoring [Local Internet Registry] (LIR).

What does it cost to become a member?

You will need to pay a one-time sign-up fee and an annual membership fee. For more information, please see Billing and Fees.

How to become a member

Any legal entity or natural person can become a member of the RIPE NCC.

If you would like to become a member, you can start by clicking the button below to fill out the form and submit your documents (the form is in English).

You can then sign a RIPE NCC [Standard Service Agreement] (SSA) or an [LIR Account Agreement] (LAA) once we have carried out checks on your documents.

What happens after I apply?

  1. Once we receive your application form, we will carry out checks.
  2. After we have checked your documents, we will send you a RIPE NCC [Standard Service Agreement] (SSA) and invoice by email. You will need to sign the documents by hand as electronic signatures are not accepted. You can either scan the signed copy and send it to us via email or arrange a courier to send it back to us.
  3. Once we receive your payment and signed SSA, we will activate your LIR account. You will then receive an email with information you need to know as a new member.
  4. You will then be able to log in to the [LIR Portal], the secure web area for RIPE NCC members to manage your membership and the Internet number resources you hold. You can also start requesting Internet number resources.

Opening another account

It is possible to open more than one LIR account. If you wish to open more accounts, you need to submit a new application form.

You can only submit one application at a time. If you need to submit a new application to open an additional LIR account, you will have to wait for your previous application to be processed. All applications not complying with the "one at a time" rule will be closed.

We will also process membership applications from related legal entities (with the same contact person, directors, owners, applicant, etc.) in the same way. Members opening an additional LIR account need to sign the LIR Account Agreement. Members with multiple LIR accounts are entitled to just one vote at RIPE NCC General Meetings. The oldest LIR account will receive the vote.

You cannot become a Member:

  • If your membership has been terminated for providing false or misleading information to the RIPE NCC. This is in place for five years from when a Standard Service Agreement (SSA) was terminated
  • If you or your organisation are subject to EU sanctions
